SHE SWINGS READING IN HER HAMMOCK
while her baby boy plays
today a quiet slightly windy day
the backyard fenced their rottweiler lurkes
vroom vroom he drives his cars threw the sand
the wind blew up her skirt
Into the house to get a jacket
the pages turn in the wind
leaving a child unattended was tought to be a sin
remember, the rottweiler he guards
protects the domain when master is out
she walks back now, the protector is not about
Tormrnted screems running frantic thoughts scanter around
the cold ground smashes her face looking back
her hair in her eyes, blood on her hands then black
The protector he lay dead stumbeled over him like a stone
Fluttered to her feet running again
This cant be the end
Pain flocks threw the body numbness pins and needles
police they took the protectors body away
they said antifreeze injested with meat distracted him that day
jackets all burned, naked body until her baby is returned
vroom, vroom, she wakes sand in her face
he smiled, laughed threw more dirt, protector in his place..
she continued reading, the reality of it she could taste…
