Bob asked:

I want to buy a hammock to hang in our garden between two trees which are 10 feet apart. I don’t want to bring it in every time we have bad weather. I want to use it for reading and sleeping, and for my two young kids to enjoy swinging and playing in it. Any advice from personal experience? Thanks in advance.

You should check out Trek Light Hammocks, they’re made of parachute nylon which means they won’t rot or mildew if left out in bad weather (they usually dry within about 3 minutes). They can easily be hung between trees that are 10 feet apart as well.

Another great feature is that they can’t flip or spin like a regular rope hammock. So your kids are safe playing in the hammock and you don’t have to worry about them getting flipped out and getting hurt.

Buy a large one… Mine is too small and it feels like you are tightrope walking each time you lay on it!

Why not get a free standing one, then you will not harm the trees
